About me
I have spent much of my life outdoors, through growing up on the North York Moors, studying for BSc and MSc degrees in Geology and taking courses in outdoor education through my teaching career on the Isle of Man. I have led Duke of Edinburgh training and supervised and assessed hundreds of expeditions. I have also led a number of expeditions for students including three tall ship voyages.

As well as holding the Mountain Leader Award since 1989 I am also a British Cycling Level 2 Mountain Bike Leader. As such you can be confident that if you come for a walk or a ride with me you will be in safe and experienced hands.
In my own time I am an active mountain biker and hill walker. I have climbed all of the Wainwrights in the Lake District as well as a hundred or so Munros in Scotland. As well as a deep understanding of the landscape and geology of the Isle of Man I am a keen naturalist and astronomer and can offer many insights into the nature of this beautiful island.
