Rescheduling of Winter / Spring guided walks

I have had to reschedule the two January walks (marked ***) due to the current covid situation.

I hope the following dates will suit everyone – I don’t suppose any of us are going away anywhere!

The walks are as follows:

 

Friday February 5th: Lag ny Keeilley and Cronk ny Arrey Laa – A spectacular walk taking in part of the Raad ny Foillan coastal path and the remote early Christian keeill and burial ground of Lag ny Keeilley before the climb to the top of Cronk ny Arrey Laa, returning to the start across moorland. 9km, 500m of ascent, 3hrs 30minutes. £15
Sunday February 14th: Colden – A shortish hill walk in the centre of the island giving fine views in all directions. 7km, 400m of ascent, 3 hours. £15
Friday February 19th: Laxey Hills – Slieau Ruy, Ouyr and Lhean – This walk will start from Agneash and climb these three hills before returning past the Snaefell Mines. The terrain is a mixture of good paths with some rougher, heathery ground. 10km, 3.5 hours. £15 per walker.

***Friday March 12th: Slieau Ruy and Lhargee Ruy from Little London – A 10km walk from the Little London road across moorland to the fine summit of Slieau Ruy, returning across Lhargee Ruy and Glion Gill. Remote moorlands with a couple of steeper climbs, great views and wildlife. 10km with 400m of ascent, 3 hrs 30 minutes. £15

***Sunday March 21st: Slieau Managh from Sulby Claddagh – This walk climbs up through Ohio plantation eventually reaching the huge quartz outcrop of Creg Bedn before crossing the moorland to return down Narradale. Fantastic views in from a rarely visited hill. 11km, 400m ascent, 4hours. £15
